Lately ICT is emphasising the use of the NWOG, New Week Opening Gap.
But why focus on this gap, that exists mainly on the indices futures chart you wonder?

Well, because you understand Goldbach and also ICT's PD areas, you understand there are 2 main types of gaps. Small gaps and large gaps.

The small gaps are called FAIR VALUE GAP (FVG) and the large gaps are called LIQUIDITY VOIDS (LV).

Now, as a Goldbach trader, we understand most building blocks are 6%. There's a special bread, which are the NON Goldbach blocks, and they are 12% in size. They are split into 2 blocks by a non Goldbach level, so these blocks will be 6% as well.

As a reminder, the rejection block is 3%, but 2 consecutive rejection blocks, one of the current range and one on the preceding/following range are also creating the full 6% block.

The middle of these 6% blocks are called Consequent Encroachment (CE).

An order block is a special one, as this one is 8% in size (from Goldbach level 3 towards 11, or from 97 towards 89). The middle of this block is called a Mean Threshold (MT).

Now, how do we translate this information to the NWOG teachings?

Well easy, if you see a large opening gap on the weekly, we will see this as a LV block, alternatively, if the gap is rather small, we will see this as a FVG.

Take this week's example. We see a large block (opening), so we measure the size of it. As it's large, and we understand a large block is 12%, we create a new dynamic range by dividing the size of the block by 0.12.

So we get (20052.25-19961)/0.12 = 91.25/0.12 = 760.4

We will create a new Goldbach fib of 760, and we'll move the discount LV block towards the gap, because we're bullish as per the look back analysis we did on the discord.

This will give us a range for the coming week to work with. You will find that price respects the levels quite good.

Now compare it with the previous week's example.

Here the gap was a lot smaller. A small gap, so we will use the smaller version, thus the FVG.
A FVG is 6% in size, so you again measure the high-low, divide by 6% and you get the new range that can be used throughout the week. As we were bullish as per the look back, assign the discount FVG to the NWOG, and you have the levels you will want to monitor throughout the week.
